& SAFETY COURSES

WHMIS
This course can be picked up at Judy's Safety Company and completed at home. It is a course designed for any and all workers who could potentially come in contact with any "controlled" products. Students receive concise information regarding their work place chemicals from reading the M.S.D.S (material Safety Data sheets).
You will learn to recognize three types of labeling. You will be provided with a W.H.M.I.S handbook as governed by the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety and Government of Canada. As well as providing specific information regarding your rights and obligation as an employer, Supervisor or worker under W.H.M.I.S. legislation. (O.H.&S. chemical hazards regulations) Certificate given upon completion of course work.
TDG
This course can be picked up at Judy's Safety Company and completed at home. It is for anyone who handles ships or receives transports or offers a consignment for transport requires dangerous goods training under Federal Law. This course will cover classification, identification and emergency response planning. You will be informed of bulk transportation of hazardous waste, federal and provincial road requirements and the penalties for non-compliance to the Legislation are clearly explained. Certificate given upon completion of course work.
EMERGENCY FIRST AID
In this one day course you will learn to recognize and provide interventions for life threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives. This course will cover CPR and choking for adults, severe bleeding, head and spinal injuries, shock and unconsciousness, and Automated External Defibrillation (AED). Judy's Safety Company offers St John Ambulance certification which is valid for 3 years. This course is completed in 8 hours.
STANDARD FIRST AID LEVEL A
WITH CPR & AED TRAINING
This two day course is the most commonly required training course in the workplace. You will learn to recognize and provide interventions for life threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives. This course will cover CPR and choking for adults, severe bleeding, head and spinal injuries, shock and unconsciousness, and Automated External Defibrillation (AED). Judy's Safety Company offers St John Ambulance certification which is valid for 3 years.
H2S ALIVE
This is a required course for anyone working in the petroleum industry. In this course you will learn about the physical properties, health hazards and exposure limits of H2S as well as basic rescue techniques and how to use respiratory protective equipment. Students will receive Enform certification upon successful completion of course, which is valid for 3 years. This course is completed in 8 hours.
GROUND DISTURBANCE
LEVEL 1 & 2
This course is for anyone working in trenching and excavating. You will learn of the types of ground disturbances, hazard assessment, Codes of practice and legislation. You will gain the knowledge to safely complete the work and void a potential hit to pipeline or utility. Global Training Certification. Valid for 3 years completed in 8 hours.
FALL PROTECTION
This one day course is intended for anyone who is working at heights. The course will address the fall safety needs for industrial and commercial workers. Participants will gain an understanding of working with fall protection equipment, perform hands on skills which then can be applied to their particular work conditions. In addition to equipment inspection and care, regulations and standards will be covered in this course. Employees will be given certification upon completion of 8 hour course.
AERIAL WORK PLATFORM
This one-day course is designed for individuals who plan and supervise work at heights, or perform work at heights themselves. This course contains theoretical and practical components.
